Series : Still At Home

Scarlet Bottlebrush.

"This composition took so long to complete that in the end I was dreaming of painting dots and lines and saw them everywhere I looked. It was an ambitious idea to include so many little shapes, but the result, despite the marathon was therapeutic in a way, like a meditation and I was surprised and loved the result.

There is something about the start of the Bottlebrush season that sends the birds crazy - we love to watch them dive in and out chasing each other, all trying  to dominate the territory, before things settle down and they start to create nests everywhere in its protective 'sleeping beauty' type thicket" There is often a mix of Yellow Rumped Thornbills, White browed Scrubwrens, Splendid Wrens, New Holland Honeyeaters and then Willy Wagtails all using this tree in our garden as a lookout, food, protection and a territorial marker - and then the parrots arrive to enjoy nipping off the tips and flowers."

Noongar word for Bottlebrush: tubada.

They are traditionally used in healing of skin complaints and wounds. In some areas It symbolises strength and unity and can be given to show comradery and mateship.

Two species only, of Bottlebrush occur in the South West of Western Australia. Botanical name: Callistemon Phoeniceus or Melaleuca Phoenicia (some botanical disagreement continues)

Our print and photographic partners  are locally owned and operated and support the highest quality product philosophy.

We use only high quality archival inks, some times known as Giclee prints and Canson fine art papers and canvas.

Custom sizes may be available in addition to sizes listed but it depends on the size of the original art work and the size of the digital file. Please enquire.

If you order your print on canvas, you will need to have it stretched and framed at your local picture framers. The surface has already been treated with a UV coating for extra protection. Your canvas will be rolled and posted to you.

A limited number are produced of between 20 and 200. These are produced on request. Each one is signed and numbered by hand. This is visible on the lower edge on the paper print, but is on the edge of the canvas and will not be visible when stretched.

Reproductions are NOT created in canvas at the same size as the original painting.

Each print is supplied with its own matching print certificate.

Prints over 50 cm in measurement are large format prints and are signed and come with a print certificate. Canvas prints are signed on the back .Smaller prints are not signed.

To facilitate stretching a boarder of plain canvas, or black canvas (on the Still @ Home series) is added to the image edge.

The paper prints measurements are given as image size and paper size in case you wish to have a larger space around your image before a mount window is laid on top.

Sizes shown in room setting images are for illustrative purposes only /not necessarily to scale.

Please check sizes with a tape measure before ordering, remembering that the framing you select will add to the size.

All prints are delivered to our studio where they are then checked and packed ready for postage.

All prints are carefully wrapped and rolled and protected and packed in a protective postage tube.
