The Chosen Ones
Series : Still At Home

"I always loved Margaret Olley's much quoted quip "if the house looks dirty buy another bunch of flowers is my advice". The tradition of painting flowers in still life arrangements will probably always offer artists inspiration, it is sometimes looked down upon as a undervalued feminine activity, but the great dutch masters celebrated the temporary nature of youth and life, good health and fertility with the use of flowers in their highly prized paintings, for me they are used to remind me of the wonderful architectural design we find in nature, the palette of colour that inspires our mood and the way a composition of these elements - when I feel I have managed it to be balanced, can offer a quiet kind of resolved harmony, a site for calm interest and contemplation.
This composition is not an example of it but I admire the Japanese philosophy of Ikebana - which is steeped in the philosophy of developing closeness with nature. Practitioners of this arrange branches and flowers at specific angles to represent heaven, earth and man".
Our print and photographic partners are locally owned and operated and support the highest quality product philosophy.
We use only high quality archival inks, some times known as Giclee prints and Canson fine art papers and canvas.
Custom sizes may be available in addition to sizes listed but it depends on the size of the original art work and the size of the digital file. Please enquire.
If you order your print on canvas, you will need to have it stretched and framed at your local picture framers. The surface has already been treated with a UV coating for extra protection. Your canvas will be rolled and posted to you.
A limited number are produced of between 20 and 200. These are produced on request. Each one is signed and numbered by hand. This is visible on the lower edge on the paper print, but is on the edge of the canvas and will not be visible when stretched.
Reproductions are NOT created in canvas at the same size as the original painting.
Each print is supplied with its own matching print certificate.
Prints over 50 cm in measurement are large format prints and are signed and come with a print certificate. Canvas prints are signed on the back .Smaller prints are not signed.
To facilitate stretching a boarder of plain canvas, or black canvas (on the Still @ Home series) is added to the image edge.
The paper prints measurements are given as image size and paper size in case you wish to have a larger space around your image before a mount window is laid on top.
