MRROS Short Workshops 2025
Join us for an after hours workshop at Toot Studio, 7 Wilkes Road in Margaret River during The Margaret River Region Open Studios.
This year Fi is offering 4 one off , after hours, short workshops. These workshops 'replicate' one of Fi's designs - but everyones will be unique to them - Fi's process gives you the flexibility to add your own elements and make your own choices as your go - or stick to a closer version of her original design. Its up to you.
Workshop 1. Hello Gorgeous

Workshop 2. Maggie Moments
Sunday 14th September 4.30 - 6.30pm (8 people max) 5 available
Create a framed and ready to hang image of the iconic Australian Magpie.
Workshop 3. Bird Buffet with Togetherness
Monday 15th 4.30 - 6.30pm ( 8 people max). 5 available.
Create a framed and ready to hang image incorporating the Flowing Gum and your choice of Willy Wagtail, New Holland Honey Eater or Western Spine Bill or Blue Wren

What We Do:
Let's get stuck into a short, creative, collage session. Learn about this fantastic medium for beginners (and those with existing creative skills), meet some other like minded people and complete and take home your own ready to hang image at the end of the session.
This session is perfect for small groups of family or friends.
Single participants are welcome to join existing groups.
Raw beginners especially, love these energetic, confidence building sessions.
You'll learn about Fi's process, the bigger picture that is how she came to and sustains her art practice and enjoy a private after hours session in Fi's Studio. If you are a beginner, this is a process that may inspire you to keep using to develop your skills creating.
IS THIS FOR YOU?
This is a follow along step by step collage workshop.
No skills are required, all the tricky bits are taken care of for you, you just need an ability to follow instructions in English and the physical dexterity and eyesight to use scissors and glue.
**We aim to make this workshop as accessible as possible so if you have any physical constraints please let us know in advance and we can tweak the workshop for you.
This is a small group session so Fi is on hand to help you where and when needed.

This project is completed in the time allocated because we have streamlined the usual process and organised your materials in advance. If you would like to learn more about colour mixing - printing and texture creation we would advise that you instead - book into the Beginners Collage Course.

WHAT / WHY / HOW:
Fi's reputation as a teacher has been growing since she started offering workshops during Open Studios 12 years ago. She has a great reputation and 100% satisfaction guaranteed!
She has been using the medium of collage to up skill her own approach to painting and illustration. To hone her composition skills and to build her collection of stories and imagery in a playful and easy way.
It has helped her discover and consolidate her own unique style.
In this session you will learn some of the techniques, materials and ideas involved to continue to create at your own leisure. The colour mixing and paper printing has been done in advance so that you can have a short session. We will use some specially created tools to help you achieve the required outcome.

Due to small group logistics/ advance preparation and limited resources we have strict cancellation policies-
We appreciate your understanding.
$50 admin fee for late cancellations / less than 7 days prior to date. Sorry no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance.
We work up close with others - so please do not attend if you are unwell.
If Toot Studio needs to cancel a full refund and a complimentary gift voucher will be received.
Fi's workshops are designed to be accessible for participants of various abilities and levels of experience.
If you have 4 people that would like to attend you can select a date to suit you. We usually need 2 - 4 weeks advance booking. If a date already exists, you are welcome to join the group if there is space available. If you would like to hear about workshop availability please join our mailing list and keep an eye out on social media channels.
For larger groups or groups in special locations, Fi is happy to design a workshop for your group, this might be suited to a theme or personal ability. Yes we can travel to you. Price on application.
Fi's art experiences are designed to give you a positive and confidence building outcome while introducing you to techniques that you will be able to continue to work with independently. Everything is included unless otherwise stated - no expensive materials lists or purchases to make. They are known for being low stress, joyful occasions and a great way to spend time with a group of friends or family.
We offer workshops for groups of 4 to 8 people at Toot Studio in Margaret River, or 16 people in larger spaces. The number of participants may affect the duration of the workshop. Larger school group sessions will require additional studio assistants to be present (class teachers).
