WHAT WE DO:

Collage is a great medium to develop our art skills.
This session is designed to be ‘light’ and ‘playful’ and fully accessible for all levels, it’s prime objective is to build creative confidence and learn some new useful skills for further independent self expression.

Sessions are suited and adjusted to all kinds of kids and young people - from those who might like/ need/ want a step by step, supported approach to those who like to bring in their own ideas and work more independently. Fi adjusts her presentation to each participants age/experience/needs.

Art work is finished, mounted and presented.

ABOUT FI AND HER EXPERIENCE:
Fi is a Margaret River Artist who is passionate about sharing, strengthening and developing creative thinking across her community. She has experience in creating bespoke and general workshop concepts both in person and online and has been teaching them for the past 10 years.

She has broad experience working with a diverse range of adults with all levels of experience and with all different needs and intentions. All her workshops are based on her own practice and the tools she uses and the way she has learnt to think about art making as a professional full time artist.

She has also worked with those living with a disability and has designed set ups just for special needs.

She works with those lacking confidence and those who are looking to work at developing their own ideas towards a professional practice.

Primary school art teachers love using her work as inspiration in their own classes and
her work has now been used as inspiration by art teachers all over the world!

This children's workshop session is a unique occasion to bring kids who love making art into a work space with an experienced and sensitive artist and skilled teacher. It offers more freedom to create than a traditional school class setting, an environment where everyone is enthusiastic about art and it gives more opportunity to learn from an artist who wants every child to embrace the joys of self expression thru the creative arts - without having to feel they need to get it right or that there is a grade attached to their work.

In recent years Fi has loved working with the the Art Gallery of WA education wing to run workshops with art loving kids in the city. She has created these sessions to compliment her Wander Out Yonder travelling exhibition, celebrating WA’s unique flora and fauna, working to build a greater respect and value for our local natural environments and at the same time strengthening our own creative confidence.

Fi and one assistant will supervise kids.

Working with children permits are in place.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:

Participants just need to bring their own snacks (cause snack time is great for kids to have a break) and water.
Everything including aprons supplied.

Please arrive 15 mins early. It’s important not to stress out on our way to art - so please plan your time to not rush.

Adults are not able to attend unless prearranged, but we encourage you to enjoy the garden space outside the studio.

Parents will need to leave their mobile number and sign a drop off form before departing.

Kids will need to stay at the workshop until
They are collected by their caregiver.

A BIT OF HOUSE KEEPING:

Private groups: By initiating a date for your group we will create a booking link for your group to use and ask that all participants within that group are paid for as confirmation within 48 hours of requesting the booking date. ( one person might like to take responsibility for this). This allows us to lock in the calendar so everyone knows where they are. If there are remainder spaces for others we will then advertise the date to the public.

All Bookings: **Please note our small group Cancellation Policy:
Due to small group logistics/ advance preparation and limited resources, hiring staff we have strict cancellation policies-
We appreciate your understanding.
$50 admin fee for late cancellations / less than 7 days prior to date. Sorry no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance.

*Please do not attend if you are unwell.
Please respect this request.
If Toot Studio needs to cancel a full refund and a complimentary gift voucher will be received.

Fi's workshops are designed to be accessible for participants of various abilities and levels of experience.

If you have 4 people that would like to attend you can select a date to suit you. We usually need 2 - 4 weeks advance booking. If a date already exists, you are welcome to join the group if there is space available. If you would like to hear about workshop availability please join our mailing list and keep an eye out on social media channels.

For larger groups or groups in special locations, Fi is happy to design a workshop for your group, this might be suited to a theme or personal ability. Yes we can travel to you. Price on application.

Fi's art experiences are designed to give you a positive and confidence building outcome while introducing you to techniques that you will be able to continue to work with independently. Everything is included unless otherwise stated - no expensive materials lists or purchases to make. They are known for being low stress, joyful occasions and a great way to spend time with a group of friends or family.

We offer workshops for groups of 4 to 8 people at Toot Studio in Margaret River, or 16 people in larger spaces. The number of participants may affect the duration of the workshop. Larger school group sessions will require additional studio assistants to be present (class teachers).
