WHO THIS IS FOR:
This session is perfect for small groups of family or friends. Experience the joy of a calming but also stimulating process.
Raw beginners especially, love these energetic, confidence building sessions.
You'll learn about Fi's process and be inspired to go on to use the process to keep creating.
there is no wrong way to do this - and Fi is on hand to help when and where needed.
IS THIS FOR YOU?
This is a follow along step by step collage workshop.
No advanced skills are required, all the tricky bits are supported and taken care of for you, you just need an ability to follow instructions in English and the physical dexterity and eyesight to use scissors and glue.
**We aim to make this workshop as accessible as possible so if you have any physical constraints please let us know in advance and we can tweak the workshop for you.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
This project is completed in the time allocated because we have streamlined the usual process and organised your materials in advance.
If you would like to learn more about colour mixing - printing and texture creation and composition for successful design, we would advise that you instead - book into the Beginners Collage Course -a full day course where you will create a piece from the start, learn about colour mixing tricks and create all your own papers to use. It too is inspired by one of Fi's designs. (You'll find three options to choose from on the day). See listing for this course.
Testimonials:
"I’m not creative at all - but I’ve done paint and sip things before and can tell you this is so much better- everyone’s work is unique and you could see how proud everyone was - I learnt a lot and Fi has a great deal of knowledge about how to tap into a more creative you”. Alison H.
"I’ve been to several of Fi’s sessions - I always learn something really useful and feel encouraged and confident less daunted to keep ‘ playing’. I’m no artist but these sessions help me switch out of my usual head space and I come away with something unique and really great - I feel proud . Fi is hilarious and thoughtful and really inspiring to be around - highly recommend!” Julianne P.
"We totally loved this - did it as a group for a birthday get together - brought our own champagne and cake and had the space to our selves - it was a surprise for our dear friend and even though none of us claim to be 'arty' we totally nailed it - everyones was different and Fi 's studio was a joy to spend time in together". Sue S.
WHY ? :
Fi has been using the medium of collage to up skill her own approach to painting and illustration.
It allows her to 'recreate' the subjects she works with in her own unique style. She also finds it a very playful and easy going medium and this keeps her happy!
In her sessions you will learn some of the techniques, materials and ideas involved to continue to create at your own leisure. The colour mixing and paper printing has been done in advance so that you can have a short session. We will use some specially created tools to help you achieve the required outcome.
Everyone's outcome will be unique, and assured under Fi's experienced guidance - why not check out reviews of her workshop sessions on google. A selection of birds may be incorporated so if you don't want to use a Willy Wagtail - leave it out or substitute it for another Australian bird species.
Be reassured, her projects are accessible to all kinds of participants, no matter your age or level of art making experience. The images shown here are all created by our guests who claim that they 'have no creative skills'.
